The world's nuclear fleet in 2019

In 2019, 456 nuclear reactors were operating in 35 countries, 395.4 GWe net, with 55 under construction.

Compared with 2018, the operating fleet shrank by 8 reactors. 6 reactors were connected to the grid that year, 5,217 MWe, mostly in Russia (3), China (2) and South Korea (1). 13 units were permanently shut down, 10,212 MWe. The countries with the most operating capacity were United States (98,180 MWe), France (63,178 MWe) and China (45,936 MWe).
