In 2025, 459 nuclear reactors were operating in 36 countries, 401.9 GWe net, with 57 under construction.

Compared with 2024, the operating fleet grew by 1 reactor. No new reactor was connected to the grid that year. 7 units were permanently shut down, 2,823 MWe. The countries with the most operating capacity were United States (99,214 MWe), France (61,418 MWe) and China (57,138 MWe).
