In 2025, 437 nuclear reactors were operating in 32 countries, 393.9 GWe net, with 74 under construction. 3 of those units are not included in the net capacity because no net figure has been published for them.
Compared with 2024, the operating fleet shrank by 3 reactors. 4 reactors were connected to the grid that year, 4,490 MWe, mostly in China (2), India (1) and Russia (1). 7 units were permanently shut down, 2,823 MWe. The countries with the most operating capacity were United States (96,952 MWe), France (61,370 MWe) and China (56,488 MWe).
