In 2018, 464 nuclear reactors were operating in 35 countries, 399.3 GWe net, with 55 under construction.
Compared with 2017, the operating fleet grew by 2 reactors. 9 reactors were connected to the grid that year, 10,454 MWe, mostly in China (7) and Russia (2). 7 units were permanently shut down, 5,424 MWe. The countries with the most operating capacity were United States (99,692 MWe), France (63,178 MWe) and China (42,106 MWe).
