In 2015, 454 nuclear reactors were operating in 35 countries, 383.9 GWe net, with 68 under construction.
Compared with 2014, the operating fleet grew by 1 reactor. 10 reactors were connected to the grid that year, 9,559 MWe, mostly in China (8), Russia (1) and South Korea (1). 7 units were permanently shut down, 3,863 MWe. The countries with the most operating capacity were United States (99,629 MWe), France (63,178 MWe) and Japan (41,921 MWe).
