The world's nuclear fleet in 1992

In 1992, 419 nuclear reactors were operating in 31 countries, 334.9 GWe net, with 57 under construction. 3 of those units are not included in the net capacity because no net figure has been published for them.

The operating fleet was the same size as in 1991. 6 reactors were connected to the grid that year, 4,806 MWe, mostly in India (2), Japan (2) and Canada (1). 4 units were permanently shut down, 2,163 MWe. The countries with the most operating capacity were United States (105,638 MWe), France (57,700 MWe) and Japan (31,994 MWe).
