The world's nuclear fleet in 2016

In 2016, 462 nuclear reactors were operating in 35 countries, 393 GWe net, with 60 under construction.

Compared with 2015, the operating fleet grew by 8 reactors. 10 reactors were connected to the grid that year, 9,654 MWe, mostly in China (5), India (1) and Pakistan (1). 4 units were permanently shut down, 2,043 MWe. The countries with the most operating capacity were United States (100,311 MWe), France (63,178 MWe) and Japan (41,383 MWe).
