Compared with 2006, the operating fleet grew by 3 reactors. 3 reactors were connected to the grid that year, 1,852 MWe: Tianwan 1-2 (China), Kaiga 3 (India) and Cernavodă 2 (Romania). 1 unit was permanently shut down, 515 MWe. The countries with the most operating capacity were United States (103,810 MWe), France (63,308 MWe) and Japan (49,020 MWe).
