The world's nuclear fleet in 2012

In 2012, 451 nuclear reactors were operating in 34 countries, 377 GWe net, with 61 under construction.

The operating fleet was the same size as in 2011. 3 reactors were connected to the grid that year, 2,962 MWe: Kalinin 4 (Russia), Shin-Kori 2 (South Korea) and Shin-Wolsong 1 (South Korea). 3 units were permanently shut down, 1,342 MWe. The countries with the most operating capacity were United States (103,810 MWe), France (63,178 MWe) and Japan (45,846 MWe).
