Compared with 2008, the operating fleet shrank by 2 reactors. 2 reactors were connected to the grid that year, 1,068 MWe: Rajasthan 5 (India) and Tomari 3 (Japan). 3 units were permanently shut down, 2,506 MWe. The countries with the most operating capacity were United States (103,810 MWe), France (63,308 MWe) and Japan (48,565 MWe).
