Hualong One (HPR1000)
China's Generation III PWR, with 177 fuel assemblies and double containment, and the design China exports.
The Hualong One combines CNNC's ACP1000 and CGN's ACPR1000, both descendants of the French three-loop design. It has 177 fuel assemblies, three loops, double containment and a mix of active and passive systems. Fuqing 5 was the first to operate, in 2021.
It is the most-built reactor in the world: more than 30 units under construction in China and Pakistan, where Karachi 2 and 3 have operated since 2021 and 2022. For Argentina it was proposed as Atucha III, a project announced in 2022 with no construction started.
