SRR-1
SRR-1, a research reactor (tank) in Damascus, Syria, with 30 kW of thermal power, operated by Atomic Energy Commission of Syria (AECS). Operating, first critical in 1996.
It is the only research reactor in Syria. It is one of 36 tank-type reactors operating worldwide, spread across 23 countries. Its declared uses include isotope production, teaching, training and activation analysis. It has been 30 years since its first criticality.
