Multipurpose Research Reactor, a research reactor (pool) in Abuja, Nigeria, with 10 MW of thermal power, operated by Nuclear Technology Centre. Planned, first critical in 2010.

Once in operation it will be the most powerful research reactor in Nigeria, ahead of the 1 operating today. It went critical 6 years after the first research reactor in Nigeria, NIRR-1 (2004). 48 pool-type reactors remain in operation today across 28 countries. Its declared uses include isotope production, transmutation, teaching and training.
