It is the most powerful research reactor in Jordan, of the 2 currently operating. It went critical 3 years after the first research reactor in Jordan, JSA - Jordan Subcritical Assembly (2013). It is one of 36 tank-type reactors operating worldwide, spread across 23 countries. It is one of 3 research reactors in 2 countries that KAERI designed or built.
