ILL High Flux Reactor
ILL High Flux Reactor, a research reactor (heavy water) in Grenoble, France, with 58.3 MW of thermal power, operated by Institut Laue-Langevin. Operating, first critical in 1971.
It is the most powerful research reactor in France, of the 2 currently operating. It went critical 23 years after the first research reactor in France, ZOE (EL-1) (1948). It is one of 10 heavy-water research reactors operating worldwide, spread across 7 countries. Its declared uses include isotope production, neutron scattering, neutron radiography and teaching.
