TRIGA II VIENNA
TRIGA II VIENNA, a research reactor (tRIGA) in Vienna, Austria, with 250 kW of thermal power, operated by Vienna University of Technology/TRIGA Center Atominstitut. Operating, first critical in 1962.
It is the only research reactor operating in Austria today; the country has shut down 2 others. It went critical 2 years after the first research reactor in Austria, ASTRA (1960). It is one of 36 TRIGA reactors operating worldwide, spread across 17 countries. It is one of 65 research reactors in 20 countries that General Atomics designed or built.
